The History and Innovation Behind Robert Scott
Established in 1925, Robert Scott & Sons Ltd has grown into one of the UK’s most respected manufacturers and distributors of cleaning products. Based in the Saddleworth Valley in Lancashire, this fourth-generation family business employs over 320 people across multiple UK sites, including Greenfield, Burnley, Heywood, and Redruth.
Robert Scott is recognised as Europe’s leading mop manufacturer and the UK’s largest producer of industrial and domestic cleaning textiles, supplying over 2,000 products to sectors including retail, healthcare, and professional janitorial services.
Innovation remains central to the company’s success. In 2021, Robert Scott launched the Ecofibre range, made from recycled materials — including cloths crafted from 55% recycled plastic and scourers containing plant-based fibres. In 2023, they expanded into robotics by partnering with Metabots, introducing cutting-edge cleaning robots like the META-SCRUB 60 for large-scale environments.
In 2024, Robert Scott became the sole UK distributor for P-Wave washroom products, renowned for eco-conscious air fresheners and urinal care solutions. This move supports their goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045, further reinforcing their commitment to sustainability.
